I can't believe I didn't write about this.

Actually, considering it happened in the middle of Frank week, it's pretty easy to believe.  I was too busy or exhausted to write anything here.

In the last few days of June, Josie came running into the kitchen one night, her phone to her ear and a grin on her face, bouncing up and down yelling "I won, I won!!"

Apparently when the local radio station gives away concert tickets, Josie calls in to try to win, no matter whose concert it is.

She won two tickets to see Josh Groban at the Target Center on July 9.

She immediately gave them to me, saying "Do you want to go?  I don't!  I can't believe I won!  Woo hoo!"

Best Kid Ever.

So, first I called my daughter Katie and invited her to go with me but she's not a fan.  Then, I called Margy, who I knew would be in town by then to see if she had plans.  I thought her 30th high school reunion might be that night but it turns out that was the next night, so she accepted my (Josie's) generous offer.

Anyway, on Friday night, Margy and I had tacos at Grandma's, left all the kids and took our own sweet selves on downtown to see Josh sing his cute little butt off.

It was wonderful!

He sang for almost two hours, on two different stages, one of which was in the middle of the floor so he was closer to the fans at that end of the arena.  At one point, Margy said she wished he'd turn off his microphone so we could see how big his voice really is.  he didn't but we weren't too disappointed.  His voice is huge and ridiculously beautiful.

He's a very engaging performer; he never just stood there, singing one song after another.  He talked alot between songs.  There wasn't a lot of time between numbers; he just talks really fast.  He was charming and funny and then when he sings, it's hard to believe that rich, gorgeous voice is coming out of such a skinny young boy.

Based on the sound of his voice, he should be a nine foot giant who weighs about twelve hundred pounds.

All in all, a terrific evening and Margy declared Josie her Number One Most Favorite Niece Of All when it was over.

So for the last three weeks, every time Josie wants something, she plays the "I got you free Josh Groban tickets; you OWE ME." card.

She's right.
