My brother Joe has a bunch of kids.  They are all delightful, well mannered, smart, athletic and good looking.  Much better than their father, in every way.

It's a good thing he married Heidi.

Jay was talking with a woman this week who has kids at one of the other St.Paul schools and they were talking football rivalries and she said something about St. Thomas, which Jay answered with "You better look out for Hootie Hubbell!"

She looked at him, stunned and demanded "How do you know about Hootie Hubbell??"

Jay told her Hootie was our nephew and he was a little surprised she knew Hootie.

"Everyone knows about Hootie." she said. "First of all, that's the coolest name in sports; second of all, every time he touches the ball, he scores."

Then she asked the question on everyone's mind "He's your nephew, so you know; what's his real name?"

Jay leaned in conspiratorially and said "his real name is....Hootie Hubbell."

It really is.
