Happy Thanksgiving!

I've sort of started my Christmas shopping; gotten one or two little things for one or two little people.

I don't do black Friday, which has only been called that for the last few years and is a really stupid name.  It's the biggest shopping day of the year and many retailers live or die by how they do this weekend so it should be called Golden Friday.

I love bargains.  I'd even get up in the middle of the night for some of those great deals advertised.  It's the people that put me off; too dang many  of them.  I don't shop where elbowing through crowds and standing in long lines are the rule.

Online shopping could've been invented for me.  The only problem with it is that you have to use a credit card and I refuse.  I gave up credit shopping several years ago.  But I've been saving up (like they used to do in the olden days) and it's going to be a cash Christmas again for me.

Thanksgiving is fun!  We'll be heading out to Steve and Pam's in a couple of hours where hundreds of family members will be gathered to eat, drink and make each other laugh.

I'm bringing the cranberry sauce.  Which I haven't made yet.  Because I'm a procrastinator.  Usually I make it the night before but I forgot.  Because I forget stuff.  And I'm reading a really good book.

Katie is baking a coconut cranberry cake to bring for dessert.  Josie is helping her.  I'm helping too, by providing the ingredients.  I'm just not in the kitchen with them while they whip it together.

Both my girls have natural talent at baking but it's a little scary when they tackle new recipes on big occasions. They're very brave.

The first cake went in the trash a half hour ago.  Apparently the sugar was added to the dry ingredients too soon.

The second cake is in the oven right now and smells delicious.

They're making the frosting right now.  Katie just told me my hand mixer is smoking.

It's not supposed to smoke.

But the frosting looks great!

It's warm out and sunny so I think I'll go walk around the lake before the gluttony begins.

Oh, the Blue Knights are 5-0 and ranked 14th in the Nation.  Same old, same old in other words.
