Stripes

Not Jay's favorite movie; my hair.
I decided about two months ago to grow out my natural color to see how silvery it is.
The last time I did it was two years ago and it looked pretty good but my kids didn't like it. I colored it back to dark brown because Jay didn't like it. He had too many things changing on him at the time and not knowing what his wife was going to look like when he came home at night just seemed like too much.
But I'm going to be a grand ma next spring so I wanted to do the silver thing again.
My mother's gorgeous silver hair is legendary and I'm hopeful that mine will look good.
So I haven't colored it in two months. The beauty of wearing your hair as short as I do is that I'm never more than three cuts away from natural.
MJ cut my hair last week and the good news is she gives a great haircut. The bad news is that mine wasn't quite long enough to get rid of all the brown. So I'm not sporting a pixie length cut in which some of the hair has a quarter inch of dark brown at the ends. It looks like silver and brown feathers, or stripes.
It's not salt and pepper, which I hate. There's nothing random about the brown, it swoops around my head in stripes.
It actually looks pretty cool.
Insane, but cool.
Josie didn't notice that I'd gotten it cut. She never looks at me anymore. Little brat.
Jay just smiled and asked what I was doing with my head. He's used to this stuff.
Zack said it looked really cool and it was a shame I couldn't keep it this way.
MJ said she'd cut it again in about two weeks and we'd get rid of the brown.
So I'll be having a white Christmas, regardless of whether or not it snows.
